The majority of new vehicles on the road are either leased or what is known as a personal contract plan.

When the vehicles are returned to the lease provider they need to be in a condition suitable for resale. Damage to the vehicle can result in significant financial penalties when the vehicle is returned.

Ready 4 Retail have undertaken the lease vehicle inspection training course provided by the British Vehicle Rental Leasing Association and therefore can advise on what needs to be done to the vehicle to mitigate any chargebacks. Equally importantly Ready 4 Retail can advise on what doesn’t need to be done. We can provide information for the customer so should there be any dispute the BVLRA will act as an arbitrator between the customer and the lese provider. As a general guide any damage over 25mm long will attract a financial penalty, and any dents over 10mm in diameter will also attract a penalty.

We can take the worry away for you when you return your vehicle. We will check round the vehicle with you, make notes of what needs to be repaired (and what doesn’t need repairing as it is classed as fair wear and tear) and then prepare the vehicle appropriately. All vehicles have a thorough wash and vacuum when completed and are ready to be returned to the lease provider. We advise to have vehicles prepared about 2 weeks prior to return.

“Our Honda Civic is a lease car and it is due to go back in a couple of weeks and having listened to Liam speak at BNI we decided to get a quote for fix the dent, scratches and stonechips, because he is “50% cheaper than a bodyshop and can save a considerable amount on the lease company charges for repairs.”     read more…
